The following are excerpts from the North Andover Police Department log. By law, all perso- are considered innocent until proven guilty.
9:31 a.m.: A Massachusettsvenue caller reported a man in a black trench coat was going door to doorh selling investment items. Police spoke to the person and told him how to get a permit to solicit.
1:32 p.m.: A Summer Street caller reported she received a call the day before from a home security company that asked forpersonal information. She didn’t answer the questions and called her alarm company, who said they hadn’t contacted her. The incident was logged.
2:05 p.m.: A vehicle was stolen from American Sweeping Company Inc., Turnpike Street. Police entered the info.
11:16 a.m.: A Massachusetts Avenue caller reported a suspicious vehicle in a driveway. Police found the person was waiting for a friend.
12:05 p.m.: A caller reported kids were throwing snowballs at passing cars and running into McDonald’s on Chickering Road. The group told police they were trying to get the snowballs over Route 125 onto the high school property. They were cooperative and sent on their way.
6:17 p.m.: A Hickory Hill Road caller reported a squirrel was in her home. Police found extensive damage inside the residence. They assisted in removing the squirrel.
3:05 a.m.: A Middlesex Street caller reported hearing noises in her basement and her dog was barking. Police checked the inside and outside of the home and found no problems.
5:46 p.m.: A Tolland Road caller reported receiving some obscene pictures in the mail. Police planned to investigate and file a report.
8:01 p.m.: Dunkin Donuts on Main Street reported a suspicious Mercedes-Benz was parked in front of the store. Police spoke with the operator and found he was on the phone trying to meet up with a friend.
Alissa Leeman, 19, of 21 Sawyer Road, North Andover, was arrested and charged with seven counts of larceny under $250 and seven counts of uttering a false check.
Omar Hidalgo, 26, of 8 McKinley Ave., Methuen, was arrested and charged with operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license and number plate violation.
12:56 a.m.: Police checked on a vehicle with an open trunk at North Andover Office Park on Turnpike Street. They found it belonged to a cleaner.
7 a.m.: An accident with injuries was reported on Fuller Road by Salem Street.
